Description:

Women in Libya remain marginalized from political processes, with only 16.5% representation in parliament and exclusion from key committees, such as the 6+6 Committee drafting electoral laws. Civic space is restricted, and politically active women, including human rights defenders and peacebuilders, face online harassment, threats, and violence, often with impunity. As municipal elections approach, only 30% of registered voters are women. There is an urgent need to prioritize women’s rights in peace processes, security reforms, and democratic transitions.
