Description:
Agriculture, a cornerstone of economic growth and resilience, remains vital in addressing global challenges of food security, employment, and economic development. Despite global advancements in “smart farming” technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), Libya’s agricultural sector, particularly in the Fezzan region, struggles with traditional practices, inadequate infrastructure, and a lack of cohesive strategy or entrepreneurial mindset.
This study aims to design a tailored training and incubation program to address these challenges and unlock opportunities for sustainable growth in Libya’s agricultural sector. The research focuses on:
- Assessing small-scale agricultural and livestock projects in target areas.
- Evaluating women’s representation in agricultural entrepreneurship.
- Identifying prevalent plant production types and potential initiatives around them.
- Analyzing stakeholders’ entrepreneurial backgrounds.
- Determining available technologies and strategies to utilize them effectively.
By addressing these objectives, the study seeks to enhance innovation and productivity in agriculture, promoting economic growth, job creation, and community development across Libya.
