Description:
The Minister of Local Government, Mr. Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, allocated 150,000 Libyan Dinars from the Development Budget (Life Return Projects) to support women in Ghat Municipality. Several meetings were held between the Director of Projects, Engineer Bilal Al-Turki Mina, and the Director of the Women’s Empowerment Office, Ms. Jamila Fadel Hanini, resulting in the decision to revive the old clothing factory, which had been closed for about 40 years. The project was named “Tamnuklet.”
Project Implementation Phases:
- Factory building restoration.
- Supplying and equipping the factory with modern sewing machines.
- Preparing and furnishing the factory’s management office.
- Providing training courses for factory workers.
Under the supervision of the Projects Department and the Women’s Empowerment Office, with direct follow-up from the Head of Ghat Municipal Council, Mr. Ibrahim Khalil Mustafa, the factory was successfully revived. It was once an important service facility in Ghat, exporting products beyond the city and Libya.
Project Goals:
- Provide a workspace for Ghat women working in sewing and tailoring.
- Create job opportunities for women and reduce unemployment.
- Involve women in the economic growth of the municipality.
Mr. Ibrahim Khalil Mustafa thanked Engineer Bilal Al-Turki Mina for his direct oversight and Ms. Jamila Fadel Hanini for her unwavering commitment to supporting women in Ghat.
